    Laptop Recommendations

Need recommendations for a Laptop from Best Buy . We have an HP Laptop that Best Buy may be replacing, BB Warranty. As far a I know BB has Compaq, HP, Sony, Toshbia, Gateway, Averatec & Emachines. I think the replacement price is about $2100, so lets say up to $2100. A must have is Wireless LAN.
    Thanks

    bugspop1,

In that price range. you could be looking at a Sony or a Toshiba. My friend had a Toshiba and had it back for repair 3 time in the first 8 months. He is working to get a replacement under the lemon law here in California.

I have an HP which has been good. Have no idea about the Sony, but they do look good.

Maybe there are some here that know more about laptops than I do, that would not take much either.

    Good luck. mac
If computers are so smart, why don't they just fix themselfs??

I run a sony. Many of the techs I know run a sony's as well. First thing I did with my sony was up the ram to 512 and then upgrade the hard drive to 60 gig 7200 rpm 16 megs of cache. Now it screams for a notebook. Very fast for tech use. File transfers are Increadibly fast now compared to the original 4200 rpm drive!
If it ain't broke, you arn't trying hard enough!!
