Trojan in restore files
My friends computer has 4 trojans hiding away in the system restore files ..... Windows me.
The AVG file says the addy for the files is C:\_RESTORE\TEMP\ but I can only find the c:\RESTORE folder ... it does not show the temporary folder. I have set the folder options set to show all hidden files but still no joy.
How do I get to delete certain checkpoints from this system?

I'm not too familiar with ME, but if its like XP's restore, you can turn off System Restore and that will dump all the restore points, I'm not exactly sure how to get rid of specific ones, though.

Disabling/rebooting/re-enabling System Restore will clear out all Restore points. This is your friend's best choice. He can delete all but the last Restore Point by going to the "More Options" tab in "Disk Cleanup", but he may not get rid of his trojan.

Hi Syzich and thanks for the quick reply,
You think it will get rid of the whole lot?
If that's what it takes to get rid of these four trojans I suppose that's what I will have to try ..... but think I'll hold on a little while in case somebody else has and idea too.

Thanks Duane too,
I will try that and see how it goes ..... that will take it back to zero restore files ?
