    Hi peter,
    Welcome to Virtual Dr.!
Does the boot up disk have autoexec.bat and config.sys files? Are mscdex.exe and the cd's drivers on the floppy? Do the lines in the autoexec.bat and config.sys files point to those files? Obviously your hard drive is bootable. Just to make sure, you say the boot disk loads ok, but you also say it goes straight to C: prompt. If boot disk is OK should boot to A:\ prompt. Check in BIOS to make sure boot sequence is set A,C.

    Good Luck,
    Dave
