What manufactures supply inf files for LCD displays?
I have a Planar PL190M LCD monitor and they don't supply a .inf file.
I think that is 'strange' for a $600 monitor to have to use a generic 4 year old file from Windows. I'm running 2k (please don't try to sell me on FP, er XP either).
How many manufactures supply .inf files for their LCD monitors?

There's one for the Dell I'm using, and I know they have them for the IBMs I deploy, as well. I usually don't install them to user's PCs, because they don't really seem to do much anyway. What is the monitor driver really good for, anyway?
...this one goes to 11...

The video card in your computer gets it's information about the monitor from an additional line in the video signal cable that connects to the monitor's EDID chip. The EDID chip has the same information the .inf file has, and usually a bit more. The only thing the .inf file does do that the chip does not, is list the specific make & model accuretley in the Windows hardware database, which would be impossible for windows to do as new monitors are always being produced.
As long as you are able to select resolutions within the monitor's range (refer to monitor's manual), you don't need to install the .inf file, with touch screens being the exception.
Are you having display issues of some sort?
