Internet explorer just wont work

I need some serious help.
Internet explorer works for me for a while but a few minutes after my computer is turned on it refuses to work. The window comes up but wont load the page. MSM messenger work as do file share programs bit IE and firefox dont. The only way to get them working is to Reboot my computer. Please help,

Must confess I do not understand what is happening. Those two sentences are contradictory.
Can you use IE at all? Does it work for a few minutes and then not?
Are you getting any error messages?
What is in the Address bar line when you turn on IE?
Without answers to above, I can only suggest that you run a scan with an antivirus program (with latest virus definitions), scan with a spyware detector such as AdAware and SpybotS&D (with latest reference files), and probably also run HiJackThis.
