no pointer in 98SE
i just installed windows 98 on an old comp and because i installed windows without a mouse installed, i have nopointer... how can i get this back?
(its windows 98SE)

use the window key to navigate the start menu, then use your arrow keys to highlight shutdown, tab to shutdown, hit enter, then connect mouse and restart computer.

i tried it with 2 differend Ps2 mouses and still nothing
also when it first boots up it tells me there is a mouse connected and it is functional, i dont know whats wrong...

im going to give up and re-install windows again... thanks for the help

There is a way to navigate the menu's without a mouse. I've done it, but it's been awhile. If you can do this, then you could go into device manager and remove the mouse that's showing. Then plug your mouse into port after you've shut down. I'll see if I can find my question on here about navigating without mouse.
