CDRW stopped working
My CDRW stopped working all of a sudden. It won't read and it won't write. I put the new blank CD in, my nero software doesn't see it. I put in a software CD and it won't read it and says device not ready.
This only started happening last week. Its an extern CD burner from BUSLINK. Maybe its time to get a new one?
my code doesn't break, it only bends

How old is this cdrw? If you use it constantly for years, you should try cleaning it with a commercial cd lens cleaner. They do get dirty from time to time.

Thanks for the quick reply but I think that the CD won't even spin so the lens cleaner CD won't really do much. When I inserted a SW CD before, the light would blink for a few seconds and u could hear the cd spinning and then access the CD ROM drive from Windows explorer would let me explorer the content. Now, when I insert a CD, the light comes on for one second and then nothing. Attempting to access the CD from win explorer tells me device not ready.
The CD burner is about a year old and I know haven't over used it.

Then it might be heads/lasers out of line, meaning a new one is in order.
