    Default Connection

When I check "Default Server" under Tools, Internet Options, Connections, the check mark will disappear as soon as I get out of the program. I like to "Dial my default connection" and this not working either.
    Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I've been using SpyBot and AdAware for a long time and regularly. So there must be another reason for this problem.

The first thing to try is to create a new connection identical to the one that's currently set as the default. Then designate the new one as the default and see if that solves the problem. If so, just delete the old, problem connection.

Thanks Miz, but still no luck! May be the new security update to IE is the cause?

To find out if the latest security update is the cause, go into Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the update. If that fixes the problem, then you know you've found the culprit.

If "Microsoft Internet Explorer" is listed in Add/Remove Programs, click on it, then on the "Change/Remove" button and choose the repair option.

I think the problem was Netzero (my old ISP). Removed all traces of their program and things are fine now.

    Thanks for all your help!
