Major start problems
I have been having many problems starting my notebook. when I push the start button nothing happens, I have to unplug power cord and then plug it back in, without the battery installed, then it will start. The battery checks out okay, it will run my notebook for over 2 hours. I have been told that I may have a software problem, maybe with my Win XP Home. I can not re-install XP home because my rescue disk reinstalls everything erasing everything installed! Also my clock does not keep the proper time. Everything seemed to happen at the same time.

Bojovan
Why do you keep starting a thread on the same subject, closing them and reopening again in a different forum? Please stick to the original thread. What you are doing is confusing enough.

You could go to your local computer store and buy a $100.00 Win XP update CD and insert it in your machine and run a "repair" option. You will probably need this down the road anyway.
I am not an expert on computers so you should wait until you hear from others more experienced than me.

A lot of answers was given in your original threads on this subject for all to see. You have deleted the original two threads that contained useful advice that others could use. How can people get help if you delete what has already been posted?
If everyone deleted their threads after getting the correct answer where would we be. Nobody would be able to search Vdr for anything.
Members of Vdr look at all posts and therefore the harm done is nobody can see what has already been advised and the whole thing becomes repetitive.
The likely reason for a nil response to your original threads is because nobody knew what else to advise other than what had already been posted.
I am aware that other members have the same feelings as me in respect of what you have done.
Please in the future don't double post.

I have to agree here with TJ
Although i have not responded to your thread doesnt mean that other members and I do not read them, i for one am learning everyday here and one thing that helps me and others is by the problems that other members have.
I have been following your threads, all three of them, off the same subject. and when i see that you have deleted one of them that had perfectly reasonable responses not only is it confusing for members but its also rude and disrespectful.

Missing The Point
My original post and this one, 2 total and not 3, was posted to help me get a solution to a problem I had and it was never my intention to confuse anyone. I read all the advice I was given, and thank goodness I had the sense to try and fix my problem without going with the first advice I got to spend $110.00 for a new battery and also to spend $100.00 for new XP software. I finally solved my problem for $2.78 for a new cmos battery at Wal-Mart. I understand where you are coming from but it was my decision to repost because I felt my problem was not clearly posted and I wanted to clarify a few things plus I stopped getting any replies. It was never my intention to be rude or disrespectful. For those of you that think I am a disrespectful person I say to you don't bother to reply to anymore of my postings. I want to thank everyone who has ever replied to my posts, I have received allot of support and appreciate it very much.

I am very sorry that you feel the way you do Bojovan. Saying not to reply to any post you make is not the way I feel and I am sure the same applies to other members. I for one would not black ball you in any way whatsoever.
I don't think you are disrespectfull at all but, for the record let's put it right. Your original post was in the xp forum, 2nd in the laptop forum and 3rd back in the xp forum, that makes 3 not 2.
All that I ask is that if you post a problem leave it where it is for members to reply. If it's in the wrong forum one of the mods will move it. Please don't delete what has already been asked and answered to the best of each members ability.
I am pleased that your problem had been expidited.
If in the future you feel that your problem was not clearly posted and you wanted to clarify a few things then just make an addition to your original post, by doing that it will move your thread to the top of the list in that particular forum and the flow of your problem can be clearly understood.
Good luck my friend and as I have already said I am pleased that the problem is now fixed.

A lesson learned
I have learned something here that I hope helps others with similar problems. My notebook was causing me several other problems before my Post, and at the time I did not associate them as being all one problem. Firstly I had a problem not being able to read anything other then what was brought up on the web. Everything was gibberish and unreadable, like hieroglyphics. I did a re-install and lost allot of valuable information. Then allot of other smaller problems plus my Post. I firmly believe now that it was all caused by the cmos battery, and ever since I replaced the battery I have had improved performance. I have made a vow that I will forever change my cmos battery on a yearly basis like I do with my clocks and smoke detectors. A very small price to avoid potential serious problems. Everything is well...
