Driver problem 9700pro and xp
Hi all i have recently downloaded the cat 3.10 for my graphics card which is a 9700 pro.
When i go into controll panel now it shows my agp speed as off and fastwrite off?
I have an abit nf7-s motherboard and both bits r capable of 8x and fastwrite.
I have checked in bios and they r both on, but controll panel says other wise.
I uninstalled my old driver as i was getting crashes in a new game i bought and it was driver realated.
These new driver have fixed the problem but my frames per second have nearly halfved? and im getting lots of graphic lagg.
Anyone know what this problem can be?
Also is there a program out which totally removes all old driver from ur pc?
I just add removed the old drivers but there was still some files which was overwritten with the newer drivers.
I hope this makes sence?
Thanks in advance for ur help.

Yes,,your making a 'lot' of sense. ATI drivers can be a pain in the b*tt to install new. ATI now has an uninstaller for it's drivers that should remove all the leftovers. Go to ATI's site and click over to the driver 3.10 page. Down towards the bottom you will see: ATI maintenance utilities. Click that to get the uninstaller. Read the 'tip' pages carefully. Might also want to go over to: http://www.rage3d.com/board/forumdisplay.php?forumid=59
Search around there for what others have had to do to re-install...
Stupid question? No such thing!
