    windows media player - no audio

    I was playing a video yesterday and the sound suddenly died.
    restarted and still no audio. downloaded the latest updates eetc (which were already installed) and still it does not work. any ideas..i am at a loss when restarting doesn't work...

    Microsoft just released a new KB for troubleshooting Windows Media Player 9. See if anything here is helpful.

    nothing there seemed to help. all test came back okay.
    I uninstalled and reverted back to previous and it worked fine. did a new install of the latest and once again it didn't work for video or audio. will tinker with it again....
