Angry Outlook Express Rogers Identities why so many dir

Can someone tell me why I have 33 directories in C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities for my Rogers email id's for Outlook Express?

I only have 3 in operational but activated all 6 in total for my web pages so I can get the 10mb/id usage.

Some of the files in some directories such as the outbox.dbx have email from 2 years ago. Do I need all these directories and if not how do I tell which 3 email id's are the ones that are in use so I can delete the rest?

Most of it is in this unreadable format
    ¼â¿>>0þÌÿ
but there are pieces of real words in the inbox and sent box etc. Some files are 44,000 in size. Thx in advance.

To find out which ones are in use:

Do the following for each user login or "identity" that you use (if you are the only user of your computer, i.e. you do not select a name to login to Windows and you don't use the "Switch Identity" feature in Outlook Express, then you only need to do this once. The number of email accounts you use with Rogers is not necessarily relevant to this since Outlook Express can handle multiple email accounts tied into a single identity. I'm not sure how you set it up-- are you switching "Identities" in order to see your other email addresses?)

    Anyway, do this for each:

-On the Tools menu, click Options.
-On the Maintenance tab, click Store Folder.
Select the folder location, and take note of this path (especially the long "code number" ) Then you know that this "Identities" folder is in use, and you don't want to delete it.

Why are there so many Identities in there? Perhaps you reinstalled Windows at some point, or changed around your Windows username... it could be a lot of things.

If you want those messages, it is possible to import them back in but it seems that you aren't interested in that.
