Hey people

For that past couple of days ive been asked to login vdr at random intervals.

for example i would have logged in and my password is remebered then if i would close the browser down then at another point in the day i would come here and everything would be fine and logged in automatically as should be.

Recently done the same and at random times when i restart the browser i would have to log back in.

What gives???

I have all cookies enable through IE and Vdr.

i dont understand

I use both IE6 and MyIE2 could that have anything to do with it?

Hope ive explained this ok

Anyone with advice, its not major but its annoying

Go look in your UserCP (here at VDR) button and see if the Auto logon and Browse with cookies are set to yes.

An if that doesn't work, use the log out button here. It'll delete the cookie which may be corrupt.

P3-450--Happens to me, too, but only seldomly. In my case, I think it is a Windows thing.

Cookies 'can' get corrupted. Might try deleting 'all' cookies and start fresh...

thats a good point, i havnt actually checked any other password sites if the same happens there.

I will actually do a check on other sites too.

Ok i 10 days later it has happend once again.

Just doing the usual browse through and have again been automatically logged out.

I had this happen to all password sites I went to yesterday

ive been monitoring all other login sites too, has not happend to them.

Is there away that an admin could see wether anything is wrong with my account on there side. Is that possible?

also i have noticed that sometimes my settings in Vdr have sometimes reseted for some reason.

Just a thought but is your browser and cookie cache in the usual place on your drive i.e. your not running a ram drive by any chance?
Another option that comes to mind is some sort of system cache cleaning tool installed perhaps?

Not to sound to dumb but how do you mean ram drive?

My cookies are located in the usual C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Cookies

Is that what you mean?

Sorry no confusion meant.
If you have enough system RAM you can form a virtual ram drive i.e. a drive composed completely of ram not contained on a hardddrive that you use for temporary files such as explorer cache,cookies etc and when you reboot the files no longer exist.
A sort of security and anti framentation tool

Im sure there are other solutions but I used Tweak xp pro to set it up

Tweak-XP can create a RAMdisk Drive. A Ramdisk represents a pseudo-disk drive, based on memory rather than a physical disk drive of some type. This RAMdisk can be used like any other disk, but the contents of the disk will be lost when the machine is shutdown. The pro of a RAMdisk is that it allows disk data to be accessed at main memory speed as it's not a physical hard disk on a physical drive, but a 'virtual' disk in memory. The con is that the data stored on the RAMdisk are lost when you shutdown your machine.

However - you can move your browser's cache folder (s) to a RAM drive - this may significantly increase speed while browsing the internet. Or, you move the system's temporary folder to the RAMdisk. This way the system can access temporary files at memory speed, which is 150,000 times faster compared to access such files on disk.

Tweak-XP's RAMdisk Drive is based on Microsoft's RAMdisk driver, which does support a size of 32MB only - unfortunately. However - 32MB is enough for the cache folder of your Internet Explorer or for the System's temporary folder.
