reconnect - no connection
Greetings!
Re Win XP Pro
Every now and then my connection will drop (DUN) and redial/reconnect. However, I am no longer able to access the internet. It is as though there is no connection but everything seems to indicate otherwise (icon, status, etc.). I've tested with two modems so I think the modem is not the problem. I also created another connection with another access number. No luck. It goes through the dialup sequence, sound is normal connection sound, but no internet connection. The only thing that solves the problem is a reboot.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Janusz

Try uninstalling the TCP/IP, restart the computer and reinstall the TCP/IP and restart again. Restart isn’t really necessary with XP, but it’s hard to break old habits!

Thanks for taking the time to reply, Lance1!
I reexamined every modem entry and found modem speed differed from port speed (230400 & 57600) . I set both to 57600 and it seems to have done the trick. If it doesn't hold up I might do the TCP/IP reinstall but for now, no problems.

Janusz
