    Customizing MS Outlook replies

Can someone lead me step-by-step on how to customize my email replies? Used to, when I hit "Reply", my font would be in a royal blue that made my reply really stand out from the copied message that I am replying to.

I think this has something to do with replying in HTML, etc., but I have gotten totally confused! My toolbar is always set to "Plain text" when I use the "Reply" button. Isn't there a way to default it to HTML and also set the font and color? Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    John

Can you not find the option to set reply fonts in the Tools -> Options section? I'm at home right now where I don't use Outlook. But when I get to work tomorrow, I can check for sure and post back (unless someone beats me to it! )

I did go to Tools>Options and specified that replies are to be 10 pt. Arial and selected blue, I also specified the "always use my fonts" option, but when I hit "Reply" to a message, the text I enter appears to be plain text. I also notice a good bit of the menu toolbar is "greyed-out", particularly the selections that deal with fonts, etc. Just not sure what I'm doing wrong!

Under Tools -> Options -> Mail Format (tab) which format have you chosen? If it says "Plain text" there is your problem. Change it to "Rich text" and see if that works.

My mail format option was set to "HTML" - I tried rich text, but I still don't get the colored font!

Hmm... don't understand. I'll try to set some options to see if I can duplicate your problem. I did notice that for me, it didn't have "Always use my fonts" selected. I forget the exact text, but it was the first of the 3 radio button options.
