bad ethernet connection on momaboard
As my Ethernet connection on the main board is bad can I just install an adapter card (10/100)and use that instead of the bad connection ?
Will I have a conflict or will the computer be able to sort out the operational line?I am running ME on the computer in question.

How did you determine that the onboard nic was bad???
Yes you can simply put an add-in card in the machine install the drivers and get back on the network

I used 2 ethernet cat5 cables and had a jiggle problem with both at the computer end of the hook-up. Even after running a second card I still can not use the linksys router with my system as it causes the computer to lock up and run like crapola.
Most likely time to return all this stuff and go with a different service(if I can convince the wife to give up AOHELL)
Thanks; KennJ

You can add a PCI NIC card along with the on-board. You will want to go into BIOS and disable the on-board LAN.
