Data CD's Can't Be Opened..HELP!!
Hello Everyone! I hope this is the right forum for my problem. If not, maybe you can move it to the correct one please.
My problem is this. I burn CD's and forget to label them sometimes so every so often I sit down and insert a CD and see what's on it and label it. Tonight I inserted a CD and I got a pop up message that said:
D:\ is not accessible.
Incorrect Function.
I have not changed any settings on my computer and I'm the only user. I played a music CD I had burned an hour or so prior to this and everything worked fine. I know the CD's I put in and got this message were data cd's. I ran across several Audio CD's and they all Auto started fine. When I inserted the CD's, I opened the "My Computer" icon on my desktop as I normally do and then double clicked on my CD drive after the light has gone off on the CD player above.
Any ideas? I've never had this happen before and I have been able to do this with data CD's always in the past and as recent as a couple of days ago.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! Have a great day and Thank You Bunches!!!!

Does this happen to you with ANY CD or just a particular one?
At this point, I would assume a faulty CD, or an application having the last CD logged as open.
Did you try to restart your system and reinsert the CD in question?

you can try to retrieve the data by using this utility. CDR Diagnostic will let you see previously burned sessions and even provide tests to verify files. I know that ECDC5 Platinum has a session selector, but it doesn't always work. Also try inserting the cdr into the cdburner instead of your cd/dvdrom. Sometimes you can still see the contents that way.
