Linux
Am.. I'm again asking a newbie question, but sorry! What's Linux! I mean what can you do with it? I heard from a friend of mine that it's something like a normal PC, but a bit better! Well, please explain what it is!
Thank you very much!
I am a man who walks alone
And when I'm walking a dark road
At night, or strolling through the park
When the lights begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange
A little anxious when it's dark
Fear Of The Dark

Its just another operating system like windows is,but having a different method of installation and configuration.
There are several different "flavours" of Linux manufactured either by licenced companies such as Red Hat by freelance programmers in what you might say as a sort of freeware project.
You might have seen Lindows advertised recently installed on low specification computers widely available at food retailers, this is a paid for Licenced form of Linux like Red Hat.
Linux usually comes with lots of optional software for you to install on several Cds.
There are many good sites for both downloading and using the operating system and freely available freeware or shareware programs a quick search of google will give you a good insite.
Try these for a quick peak at some of whats available:

Anyways thank you very much for the useful information. Really... Thanks a lot buddy!

The best way to see what Linux is is to try it.
Find a way to get ahold of a Knoppix CD.
It is a recent version of Linux that can run from just your CD. Very painless to try.

Good Luck
