[RESOLVED] Lotus Word Pro - Worth It?
I just installed Lotus Word Pro "Release 9" and was searching for newer versions (I think v9 was released in '97-98). The IBM/Lotus homepage says that v9.5 (?) is available but the download clickable link does not work. Does anyone know how to upgrade to the latest version? BTW, WP 9 came on a Lotus Smart Suite CD that was bundled with my IBM Aptiva machine. I really only need the program for resume writing and I was wondering how Lotus compared with MS Word 2002. Opinions?

Latest version is 9.8 (not a free upgrade).
I find 9.0 does all I need a word processor to do.
If you were planning to upgrade Windows to XP, you'll need to upgrade SmartSuite (9.0 is not XP compatible).
9.0 was the first so-called "Millenium edition" released in '99 I think (I'd have to double check when I get home). Considerably improved over SS97 (which I also have) particularly web capability.
No different to M$ lifecycle really with M$Office97 = LSS97, Office2k = LSS9.0 & OfficeXP = LSS9.5 or better.

Would you happen to know of a good download link for Lotus 9.5? The clickable link at IBM/Lotus results in a bad page (I get the standard white screen M$ message). I have emailed Lotus but after 5 days they have not responded. I just want v9.5 to bring Word Pro up to date. Thank you.

Or try a free word processor (and spreadsheet, etc):
