how can I create my own ftp server?

I've tried numerous ftp programs like ftp explorer, ftp commander, smart ftp, etc. And none of them let me create my own personal computer server so people can connect and download off of it.

-Are there any simple ftp programs that let you create servers and how do I create them with adding passwords, usernames, ports, folders/files to share, upload limit, etc? I have a cable modem connection.

    thanks

Bulletproof FTP is what I use to do this...
    Very simple...

Be prepared to lose A LOT of bandwidth running an open FTP server...

Bullteproof is excellent, just set it up to run on another port besides 21 then you avoid all the ftp search hits. I go with a high port number somewhere in the hundreds. To connect from IE type:

    ftp://[email protected]:port#

    I'm a big fan of www.dyndns.org.

A visit to http://checkip.dyndns.org:8245/ will give you your current public IP address. If you want to know whether it's static or dynamic, ask your ISP.
