Any Clue what virus this is? cant access any programs or icons

I believe I am infected with a virus of some sort. I tried the Yaya fix, but that said not found. I am unable to open any programs , my documents, control panel, etc. in win xp home addition. I can boot into safe mode and open some of them, but the rest are still functionless. System Restore hangs when I attempted to run it. I have tried reinstalling XP using the repair function, to no avail. I do not want to have to Fdisk the system, as gateway is suggesting to me. Any assistance would be appreciated.

What shows up when you scan with your antivirus? You can also go to these sites and do a free scan with their AV scan.

Hi yes assuming you are using your computer to access this site than run those on line scans, if nothing is found try XP repair again , if no success then from this site when you get the option to repair press esc and install XP over the top of itself you will keep all programs just lose windows updates and such like .

I cant get on the net, due to the problem, or run my Nortan 2003 to see what the virus is. Tried both safe mode and regular. The only reason I know it wasnt the Yaya was when I run their fix, from my a drive in safe mode, it scanned the computer and said it was not found.
