PC-cillin Christmas message??
Merry Christmas!
I attempted to update my PC-cillin 2002 this morning (purchased upgrade in April) and was greeted by this message:
"The LIcense Key format is illegal"
Anyone else having a similar problems?
Is this a Christmas present from Trend Micro? Or is it just me?

Note: the License Key is case sensitive.

???
This is not an entry format issue - PC-cillin was operational since last April (it was entered correctly back then).
The message is in reply to update attempt.

New version
I think you need to upgrade your liscence key, because after youve had it for a certain amount of time I think that you need to get a new one. Try going on the pc-cillin site or phoning tech support

Asked OJ once, "Do you ever think about defeat?"
Reply, "I don't think of da feet, it's da hands!!"
Hey, we talk like that down here. It's da thing!

Upgrade the license key. Well, in the past you could go to website, enter your current serial and key, and get new key, but when I try that, it states that now my SERIAL is invalid. I'm locked out. Serial no good, license key no good. I know of at least two others having the same problem today. Coincidence? Could it be related the Friday the 13th engine NickGrana mentioned? :-)
Yeah, I've sent them message.
I updated yesterday and got the new virus definitions - but it did not update the engine.
Thanks, NickGrana, for the link. What do they charge for the upgrade to 2003 version?

My next door bud insists on staying current despite my moans and groans to the contrary, but:
Existing PC-cillin users can upgrade at www.manac.com.au for $39.95.
Wait though. There may just be that year end glitch...Y2(003)K
Good luck and keep the bugs out.

I had the same problem yesterday after upgrading to WindowsXP and trying to reinstall PC-cillin 2003....sent the old license no. and also said it was invalid...gave them a call at their 800 number and got a nice lady who got all my information and gave me a new license no. right away and stayed online with me until it was accepted...great support....try to call them to get this resolved...worked great for me!
