Telnet.Exe Another Virus / Trojan Hoax
I received an email today warning me to check my system for 'an extremely dangerous trojan' called 'Telnet.exe' and instructing me to delete this at once if it was found. Luckily for me I checked Google for some background on what Telnet is
Why do people do such things ???

I'd be more inclined to think it's just another hoax along the lines of sulfnbk.exe and jdbgmgr.exe. It's gonna be a fun Christmas at work... one of the major systems runs on an old SPARC that people access through telnet.
As for why, I would imagine it's the same reason anyone creates any sort of chain letter - some twisted sense of fun and a feeling of accomplishment if it ever comes back to you and you realise just how many people are clueless enough to fall for this crap.

What they forgot to tell you is that the most dangerous trojan on your computer resides entirely in the c:\windows or c:\winnt directory.
Delete the contents of this directory and you won't have to worry about your computer being hacked anymore.
EDIT by jerryctx. This is a joke (I hope). Do NOT delete these directories.
