    Medion Computers

I am considering a Medion Computer with a 17" flatscreen monitor. The price and components seem great. Did anyone have any experience with Medion? They are sold through ALDI stores.

    Thanks for any help!

Have someone in my extended family who bought a Medion system on Thanksgiving Friday couple of years back. Was/is a great deal considering what you all get.
Downside is the support/service...which you won't need much if you know your way around HW and SW.
Nimo N152B (AMD R5, W11H) and plenty of other legacy systems :-)

I actually bought Medion Titadnium 4000 model for 699. It runs really fine. i attached Sony H13 15 inch flat LCD panel and combo works great. For 699 I got this

    P4 2.66 ghz
    120 GB HD (Seagate) ATA-100 7200 RPM
    256 MB DDR RAM (Samsung)
    Sony roxio CD-RW drive 40X
    DVD drive (generic I guess)
    Gefore 4 MMX 440 128 MB 8X grpahic card
    Memory expandable to 2 GB
    Key board and speakers
    2 Firwire ports (1 front 1 back)
Digital audio in/out with AC 97 5.1 enabled Dolby Digital
    S video adaptor
    Gameport
    Memory reader (All 4 kind)
    6 USB port 2 front 4 back

I definately recommend this computer. The company is Germany based just starting its operation in USA. They give 1 year warranty and pay for shipping if something goes bad. They send you right part first and then you have to return the bad part in one week in prepaid shipping box. They offer 24/7 cutomer support.

Lets see how this baby works on long run...

Wow, don´t know (until now) that Medion and even ALDI is present in the US. However, in Germany/Europe Medion Computers are the most selling ones. Inexpensive but with good quality. The configurations are the same like in Germany. Boards and graphiccards are (mainly) ASUS or MSI, exclusively made for Medion. For example: ATI manufactured exclusively a Radeon 9600TX and MSI (normally only nvidia-based) build the graphicboard - this shows how powerful the company is. This brings quality and reliability - complaints are expensive...... I guess, it isn´t a mistake to by one. But warranty seems a little bit short.

    Kind Regards.....

I part time at Office Depot and we sell Medion computers. I'd say they're much better than the HP's/Compaq's or Emachine's that we sell, but with most name brands, you either get really great tech support or crappy support. The Medion computers we have are much better considering they're the only ones with GF4 mx 440 agp cards because the HP/Compaqs and Emachines all have crappy integrated!
