How to delete stuff in the Address window

I must be doing something wrong but remember being able to do this before. If I go to the address window and type the letter a then I see everything I was looking for via search that starts with a. How do I delete the one's that I created. If I typed the word apple, it shows up in the list and if I highlight it and try to do a delete, it doesn't delete...thx in advance.

Open Internet Explorer; click the Tools menu; Point to Internet Options; Click the Clear History button.

copo right beside the clear history you can set how long you want those address to stay in history
