Where is this hiding re :Opaserv

ok here is the story i have formatted two computers infected with this virus but they are both still infected some how.

they are networked together with nav2002 and virus def 11/10/02 .

like i said i formatted both machines using a ghost restore disk that contains windows 98se (created year and half ago before the virus was written i hope).

then reconnected then to the network which is the 2 pc's 1 adsl router and a infotec ip280 printer. and all of a sudden norton finds the virus and asks me what i want to do with it.

i select delete (which then say's sucessfully deleted) and run the removal tool but it doesnt find anything then i run a full system scan and again nothing then bout 2 mins later up comes norton and says it has found the virus again my question is can the printer or router contain the virus ?

been working on this all day

ps i turn both comps off for 30secs after running tool or deleting file

and now bitdefender.....as i say that i get told again im infected. LOL not funny

Unless the patch referred to in http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...n/MS00-072.asp is applied - you can pretty much guarantee a re-infection.

vserver.vxd should show as a QFE in it's porperties.

Pull the network cables off of them until both are disinfected.

thanx for all your replies i have formatted the hdd but that is not really the answer so i will save this page in my favourites and next time i come across this illness i will come here first
