XP pro on w2k network
I have a small network running w2k server and five w2k pro workstations. I am trying to add another machine which is has XP Pro. I am having problems trying to bypass the network connection wizard to connect this machine to the network with a domain. I have tried the help menus with no luck.

I believe all you need to do is right click My Computer-Properties-Computer Name. Click the network ID button and it will walk you through it. I am confused by your post, but hopefully this will solve your problem. You will, of course, need admin rights to add a machine to the Domain.
Come on guys....it's all ball bearings these days.

I'm going to make some assumptions: You've been able to navigate to the Network connections Window, and under Network Tasks, you choose "Create a new connection". This starts the Wizard, which you want to avoid. I'm going to also assume the reason you are doing this is that you want to enter your IP addresses manually, which the wizard doesn't appear to let you do.
If I'm close to understanding your problem, here is what you should do: In that same Network connections window, Right click on the "Local Area connection" icon, Select properties, Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and select Properties. You should be able to put in your settings there.
Let us know if this works, or if you need more help.

Calm - it would seem that way but XP-Pro likes to do it differently. No idea why.
edwinator1 - right-click the network neighborhood icon, select advanced from the network connections window (not a specific connection), network identification and then change.
You will then have pretty much the usual window for doing the workgroup to domain thing or the computer name change thing. If you have rights on the domain to add new PCs, you should then be about 30 seconds away from putting the XP-Pro system on your domain.
