GUI based backup program?
I have a small server setup running Redhat Linux 6.1, I also have a Travan tape drive installed.
I am able to use it via the command line to back up to /dev/nht0 and it works really well. But the built in backup program called Kdat does not work, I have set it up to point to the device and have also setup default tape drive. But every time I go to mount the tape it tells me that there is no tape in the drive.
Is there any other GUI based backup software?
Thanks in advance.
Yuri.

I use taper, it's gui based and not to bad either, try taper -T as root to see if its installed on your system, do a man taper also, there are quite a few options that can be passed to it from the command line when starting it up, eg taper -i (incremental backup) etc.
Search http://www.linuxapps.com for it, tried posting the direct link but it dosent seem to work properly on my pc today !!!!!

backup software
Hi people,
There a comercial backup aplication for linux called Arkeia who recently has done a free version of their software. The Arkeia Free version is a complete version of the Arkeia solution for 1 Linux server attached to a single-tape tape drive (SCSI) and 2 Type-2 client machines (i.e. Linux, FreeBSD/BSD or a MS-Windows workstation.

Found the Taper Homepage Yuri, you can download it from there.
Also found this software list when I was searching for taper, there are 44 different backup utils listed with homepage or download links, that should do the job.
