    Inactive Icons still running?

    Do inactive icons still run? My AVG antivirus becomes inactive and is hidden by the arrow icon. Does it still work or does XP actually inactivate the program? Thanx in advance

    Hi BigTimeNovice - the icon you see on your taskbar is for the AVG Control Centre. If you want to check to see that its functional, start AVG from Start > All Programs and the status of the Control Centre will be displayed. If its active and functional, you are fine. You can test this by rightclicking the icon on your taskbar and shutting the Control Centre down. Now open AVG again. It will show that it is not fully functional. Cheers AM

    When XP hides the tray icon it's purely visual cleaning up - the programs are still running.
