Delayed Typing Response
I noticed that sometimes while I was typing a reply in VDr, that the letters were delayed in appearing on the screen slightly. Thought it was just another 'glitch'. What I found was that it was probably :
"The AutoComplete history may be corrupted.
The Pstores.exe and associated .dll files may be corrupted or their versions may be incorrect.
The ProtectedStorage registry key may have incorrect parameters."
This was from MS-KB: http://support.microsoft.com/support.../Q251/7/87.ASP
SO, if anyone else has this annoying little problem, this is the solution. It also helped my OE in opening speed as the article also states.
If you have a
" pstore.log " in your system, then there may be a problem with the ProtectedStorage registry key.
Just thougt I'd pass this on.

Appreciate the sharing of your info. Hurriedly read the MS document and your comments but neither of these describe my occasion delay in the letters hit on my keyboard in showing on the screen. If this were happening right now, I could be typing and some of the letters--even a whole word would not show before I had already typed another word. I can type fast but not that fast!! Wonder if you and I are describing the same thing here?! I do not have the "pstore.log" in my Win98SE machine.

So the problem is fixed? Because it may relate to this thread in the feedback forum
http://discussions.virtualdr.com/sho...hreadid=110134
which blames the slow typing here on the flash ad animations.
Would be worth posting this over there to let them try it out if they haven't fixed the problem yet.

I believe this applies to the forms in IE as the title states.
"Delayed Response When Editing Internet Explorer Forms and Outlook Express May Take a Long Time to Start (Q251787)"
I did the AutoComplete and the ProtectedStorage registry key fixes and it did the job.
Amazingly enough, I found the answer in a Win98 NG that was suggested for other things ( IE running slow ).

PS: Fink, I did as you suggested.
