    have a question myself

still searching for older weeklies, have found a few more...
thought all that good info got lost

still cannot locate safety, surge protection

havent gotten newsletter for this week?

also think a short index at end of topic
(the epilogue or parting shots should point to new topic, but should perhaps also (at least once in a while) list the past topics

that's what I had in mind when I started looking.
(still had to wade thru 16 o/t op deltas...

right now, I'm off to bed.
    nite' all

When I pull my bootstraps, why don't I load Windows?

    got langa and wondered.
get back here and I find out why..

I just had a 30 GB drive die on me.
    it no londer spins...
I could try that freezer trick?

    Tomorrow, the shop is open.

get home, get dead drive, go to shop.
, get new disk in return (full warranty), maybe get cup of coffee...
I estimate it will take 19'48" (without coffee) to replace it.

data has always been on more than one drive.
and it was a data storage "backup" drive.
still, it wouldn't be funny had I not had that backup mentality.

its twin is currently getting the data that was saved to it, and this weeks new stuff.
I wonder what happened to cause this.

whatddaya think, should I put it in tha freezer?

GG1, I believe the freezer trick only works if the problem is that the drive belt has streched.
JAAK, how long did you set the microwave to thaw out the hd?

EDIT: Jan, 01, lost 13 gig Maxtor, frezzer tricked worked 3 or 4 times was only able to recover couple of gigs each time until the belt got hot. Lost rest of the data.
