Opinions on Diamond Supra Max USB modem
Hi Guys,
Having to buy a new modem and would like to get your opinions on the one above.
I've gone to modem sites forums, but get nothing but a spinning sensation in the head from what i read. Wondering if anyone here has experience with this new USB model.
Any and all help appreciated.
Thanks

Just check your USB in device manger and if it has Via Tech in the longest line. If it does, go to via and get the usb filter you will probably need it. Most people who have their chip have to use it.

Greengoose, Thanks very much for the info.! Haven't used Axion before, but checked them out at resellerratings and it seems that as with all large companies, there are both good and bad ratings. See'ins as how it's a one item purchase, i decided to give them a go..So, it's on the way with 2nd day Fed-Ex. Shipping was only a' buck and change higher for second day, so decided to go that way. Even tho' shipping was pretty high, it's still over $20.00 less than from Mfg's. site or anywhere else i found it.
Train, Thanks for the heads-up on the USB thing. But may have opened a can o' worms?
In device mangler, under USB, i have double entries for "USB Hub" and 2 entries exactly the same listed as: VIA VT83C572/VT82C586 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller.
I'm running an Asus A7V133 board w/Athlon 850Mhz and i "do" have the built-in Promise Mass storage controller installed.
This board has the option of using extra USB connectors and i "do" have the 2 extra ones installed but am not using them. Could these double entries be there 'cause i have the extra connectors installed?
Hmmmmm,,, Whad'ya think?
Thanks guys..
