Problem with floppy disk
The led of my floppy disk is always on. During the boot sequence, a message from setup says "Floppy disk fails (40). In the control panel, this disk is named as removable disk. In the boot menu of the setup, when "boot up floppy disk seek" is disabled, the disk is normally named as "floppy disk" in the control panel, but nevertheless the floppy inside is not detected.
A lot of thanks for your help.

You will probably find that the ribbon cable is the wrong way round, unplug it from the floppy and turn it around 180 degrees then replace.

I know the cable is turned the right way. I think the problem is with the new motherboard, but then, don't know the solution.

Hi Andre;
I see that this post is a few days old.Just in case you return.I had this same problem a while back. Disk Drive A was named Removable in My Computer. Turned out that the Floppy Drive was disabled in the BIOS.
