    Counterstrike Problems

    Hi when ever i try to join a game i get a error "could not load libary cstrike/cl_dlls/client.dll

    this is the first time i have tried counterstrike and only the second time i have tried half life (had for over a year now)

    and is counterstrike any good ?

    half life version = just installed of cd no patches addons apart from cs

    counterstrike version 1.1

    have you tried updating the HL game?
    there should be a SIERRA UTLITIES icon that you can click on and it will update your HL engine...

    also, update your CS version to the latest 1.3 version www.counter-strike.net

    Cheers guys just updated the halflife game
    just downloading the counterstrike patch.

    which mod is best ?

    I've played CS before, never the other one though...
    a lot of cheaters in CS, don't know about the other one...

    Counter-Strike 1.3 is pretty reliable, you should update to that.

    As for cheaters...we run the PunkBuster app from our game server, so that prevents any cheaters.

    I'm a relative newbie to the game as well, but I enjoy it. It just takes time to get used to the controls. If you get up and running stop by our server for a match!

    actually, its not hard to fake a PB auth send message
    I've done some cracking and find it relatively easy...I could cheat anywhere...
    I don't play the game anymore however

    Mike3d, I'd laugh at your video card before I'd laugh at your hard drive

    Seriously though, I'd upgrade the video card first. Although a capable little card, it exits out of counterstrike too slowly for me.
