Office 97 install error message
I have recently had to format my hard drive, and since have not been able to re-install Office 97 from CD-Rom. Getting "Office 97 could not open the file E:\OS\System\ODBCAD32.EXE". Cancel, Abort, or Retry buttons come up, but still doesn't see the file on CD-Rom after retry is pushed. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Hi Cowboy777
got your message on E. some suggestions I got were to get a CD cleaner for the heads or lenses, about $12.50 here, run about 20 seconds. Also to clean my CD's with a mild solution and a T-shirt. My CD kept sounding like it was going on and off but could not get going enough to get the program loaded .Sadly I think I found my problem, a deep scratch on the outer edge of the disk, diden't notice befor... Some old experance with programs tells me if your system won't run it is a glitch in the C drive, example; program damaged, incomplete download,
C's not communicating with your Peripheral.
Sometimes when you crash permanent files can be lost and when you reformat those programs must be there in order to get all things to function correctly. If the program is not registerd to you this may be your problum.
Good luck on reinstalling,I hope my old info isen't too old, ask around,Good Luck.
