Can't open .eml attachment all of the sudden? HELP!
I'm using Outlook Express 5 in Windows NT 4.0. At some point in the recent past (I don't know exactly when) I became unable to open email attachments sent to me that have the basic .eml extension. When I try to open the attachment nothing happens. I've tried saving the attachment and opening it separately. Outlook Express opens, but there is nothing there. I went into the file types tab to see if there was a problem with the extension association, but I couldn't even find the .eml file type listed. I then tried to create a new file type with .eml extension, but couldn't because it said that it already existed. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem, and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.

Another thing to look at. Are these emails coming from people using AOL?

Thanks for the replies. I checked in the file types tab, but couldn't even find the Outlook Express Mail Message type. I again tried to create a new one, but when I try to do so with an eml extension I still get a dialogue saying an association with that extension already exists. I'm going to try repairing and/or re-installing Outlook and see if that helps.

I managed to fix it. I reinstalled IE5 & Internet Tools, and the eml file type was registered properly in the system. Thanks for your responses anyway guys!
