I have this problem, whenever I try to reply to messages in Netscape mail, the whole Netscape application shuts down. This problem was not there earlier.I don't have any problem sending new messages.Could it be some virus?I don't have any anti virus pgm.
Thanks for all help in advance.

There is a section on my website that deals with a fix for the addressbook in Netscape.... It is most likely the same problem ... try it out and let me know if it works...

I don't have that line at all in the preferences.js file!!

and under .pab I have only pab.csid,pab.filename and pab.replication.
This is my pc at office and I connect to the internet thro LAN.

Sorry ... my mistake ... I guess it didn't sink in that the problem wasn't there earlier.... meaning everything was fine and now it's not ...hehe ...
So .. It wouldn't be that problem anyways ...
What version of Netscape are you using ... maybe updating it might fix the problem ...
I don't know what the problem is ....
Sorry if I wasted your time.

If that still doesn't do anything you could always look thru Bugzilla and Query existing bug reports to see if it's been mentioned.
I usually select all the reports...
Highlighting new, verified, assigned, reopened, resolved, closed, needinfo to broaden the search ... then hopefully there is something mentioned that will head me in the right direction.
Hope you get it figured...

this is getting worse :-(
After rebooting my system X crashed..dunno why..tried running Xconfigurator again,no success.the system was going haywire, saying the process (I suppose X) was mysteriously murdered :-) Since I dunno much how to muck around in the OS I just installed again..without formatting the hdisk so I wouldn't lose all my data..now X is fine, and I am running Netscape 4.75 with the same old problem..I cannot reply to messages...and found out also that I can reply to some and cannot reply to others..really mysterious!!Could it be something wrong with my harddisk in that it cannot access a particular portion?Just a thought.

tmp -> rwxrwxrwt
Doesn't seem to be wrong...
ps. By the way I also tried removing (rpm -e)
netscape communicator and reinstalling.Didn't work.Didn't remove Netscape-common 'cos it had dependencies.
