Red Hat Install
Installing Red Hat 6.2 and get the followng error on boot with the boot disk.
RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0
crc errorVFS: Cannot open root device
Kernal panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs

Are you booting from the CD-ROM? If so, there is usually a directory in the CD whith DOS utilities as partitioning programs, loadlin, etc.
You can try making a boot floppy.
In some cases(I haven't tried Red Hat, but all distributions are similar on this) there is also a batch wich will call loadlin and run the installation program. Maybe this works.

Yes I am booting from the CD-ROM but I also tried booting from thr floppy and got the same result. I'll check the CD for the partitioning utility.
