M598 PCI Onboard Sound and Linux (RH6.0)
Greetings!
I just finished getting Red Hat 6.0 on my system.. I've got all of the patches, and everything is working great. My only problem is I have been unable to get my sound chip working. I have an onboard "PCI Sound Pro" chip (C-Media CMI8338) on my M598 Motherboard (www.pc-chips.com, slow site). I have the necessary drivers for Windows (gag), but unforunately I cannot get it to work for Linux. Any ideas or suggestions on how I can get it to work? Anyone want to team up to write a driver (i've always wanted to try)..
Thanks in advance,
David
