Installing Caldera's OpenLinux 2.2
I'm an old DOS/Windows 3.1/95 expert, but . . .
I'm new to Linux/Unix. I got a computer a decided to try Linux out and see if I would even bother to install Windows. Caldera got good reviews, so I went with it. Note: I have followed instructions to the letter.
Now here's the problem: My computer won't boot off of the CD-ROM, so I get to boot off of a floppy. After making the disk using the utilities on the CD, I boot, and the installation program starts. The problem comes when the step "Starting Lizard" comes up, at which time it goes to a blank screen with the message "No valid root could be found. Lizard aborted?"
If I use the Lisa install, Linux installs fine, but GUI is installed. The only problem is that I need/want OpenLinux to be loaded.
Is there something I'm missing??
Thanks!
