    DOS programs on WIndows 3.1

I have an old computer running windows 3.1 with an old DOS program running (for Student Acheivement Records). The printer that was being used to print the SAR's has broken down. i have tried to install a new printer, though without drivers i haven't been successful. Is there any way that i can load new drivers to the old computer to print?, or transfer the files from the old computer with the dos program to a newer computer with the same format?

What type of printer is the new printer? You may be able to download Windows 3.x drivers for it, but we need the manufacturer and model number to know for sure. It might also help to know what make and model the old printer was, in case it could be emulated.

Also depending on the size of the Student Achievment program, you may be able to copy it's folder onto another computer.

The old printer was a canon LBP model.
I have tried saving the files and printing on a newer machine though the formatting is wrong and comes out as a whole page of characters.

Does the DOS program have a place to specify the type of printer, or is it hard-coded to use only the Canon LBP model? If it is hard coded, you will need to determine if the Canon uses its own proprietary codes or if it emulates another printer type. The manual should be able to tell you this. If the program can be set to use another printer type, see what types are available.
