Installing a cd-rom device driver in Win3.1

I have a pc with an internal CD-ROM whose hard drive was recently reformatted. I installed DOS 6.2 and Windows 3.1, and they run fine. I want to install Windows 98 using the Win98 cd update I have, but when the hard drive was reformatted, the CD-ROM's driver was lost with everything else. I downloaded the correct driver for the CD-ROM (named ltnide.sys), but I don't know how to install it correctly using Windows 3.1. All I want to do is get the CD-ROM working and install Windows 98, so any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Unless it's really just a trojan, then don't bother sending it.

MS-DOS/Windows 3.1: If you are trying to install a LITE-ON CD-ROM device driver for use with MS-DOS/Windows 3.1x, you need the "v4.14" download available on this LITE-ON page: http://www.liteonit.com.tw/english-load-other.htm. (After you've downloaded and unzipped the file, run the INSTALL.EXE program).

Windows 98: If you are trying to install a LITE-ON CD-ROM device driver for use with Windows 98, simply boot from a Windows 98 boot diskette in drive A: (or from your Windows 98 CD in your CD-ROM drive) and select the option "Boot with CD-ROM support". If you don't have a Windows 98 boot diskette (and your system cannot be set to boot from the CD-ROM drive in CMOS/BIOS Setup), you can download a program that will recreate a Windows 98 boot diskette from bootdisk.com.

(Windows 95: Updated Microsoft CD-ROM Changer Drivers 4.00.950 for Windows 95 can be downloaded directly from Microsoft's FTP server: ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles/cdchnger.exe (129 KB)).
