How do I disable com ports and irq's in dos 6.2 7/or 3.1 windows. Its a mr. bios on startup nor com 4 available, but in 3.1 it shows its ok. I tried disabling it in system.ini but to no avail.....trying to install a modem for juno, no go..but in terminal it works fine..any ideas ?

The first thing I'd do is run CKCOMIRQ.EXE. It'll tell you which COM ports are available and what IRQ is being used for each one. For example:
Download ckcomirq.zip (2,648 bytes). Contains CKCOMIRQ.EXE and CKCOMIRQ.DOC.
Let us know what you find out ...
