partioning question please help me
i swapped hard drives in my mothers computer a while back we put in a 8 gig hd in an old 486 computer so we had to partition it to 4 2 gig drives she got a new pentium computer so i put the 8 gig in the new one as a primary hard drive it still is partitioned to 4 2 gig drives i want to unpartition it back to 1 8 gig drive but do i have to format the whole drive after doing fdisk??? or will it just format the d e and f drives????

Hi!
If you have a program like Partition Magic, you can re-arrange the partitions without losing data. However, FDISK can only start clean. If you have data only on C drive, you can possibly reformat the other three into one partition.
Keep in mind that the 2.1gb limit to a partition is the operating system. If you partition for Fat32, only Windows 95b and later will be able to see it. If it is a FAT16 over 2.1gb DOS will only see 2.1gb.
