Windows Critical Updates not installing...
When I download an update (Critical Updates) from the Windows Update site and then the installation starts, I get the following message...
"(Software Installation)
The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.
This software will not be installed. Contact your system administrator."
I have several updates that have not installed due to the message or warning. Has not MS Logo tested their own updates? How do I correct this so that I will not receive that message again and the installation will complete successfully?
Thanks.

Hi Fuelm@n,
I've not seen this issue before. Are you logged on as the Administrator when you attempt to apply the updates that you're speaking of?

The same thing happened to me. Tried again later on and it worked fine. Go figure.

Yes, I am logged on as Administrator, that's the only account (user)on my system. My OS is WinXP Pro. I've tried several times and on different days, still won't install.

Just in case someone forgot about me, I'm still here needing help. ô¿ô
Here are a list of things I've tried and still Windows Updates will not install (They did install previously till now)...
1. Tried installing updates in Safe Mode
2. (Just in case...) I uninstalled the Virus Scanner
3. Went to Driver Signing and selected "Ignore- Install the software anyway and don't ask for my approval"
4. "Your suggestion will go here" ____________________________________________________
I almost forgot, after changing the setting under Driver Signing, I no longer get the message that I got earlier. Now when I go to Windows Update and I download an item I now get the following message...
No Updates Were Installed
"The following items failed to install. To try installing them again, click Review and install updates, and then click Install Now again."

When I had problems getting the updates it was caused by my firewall Zone Alarm. It had to be disabled before I could get the updates.
