Yes, I do have the standby, but, I just tried it, and it says my vid card drivers are stopping it. ATI rage pro 11c. The installl was done on the drive without any other os's on the machine, now it's peacefully coexisting with 2k, 98, me, and slack. I don't think it would affect the size. It looks like I'll have to buy xp pro now too, gee, thanks, ms, for taxing the people who save your bacon day in and day out, by releasing 4 expensive os's in just over a year.

Please help us help you by posting which distribution, version, and desktop manager you use.
It would be a great pleasure to know I have helped you, and that the fix worked and might help others. You might help me by posting which linux distro, version, and desktop manager you use. Have a most excellent day, dude/ette.

Thx downtime, just as expected really, so i guess the DLLCACHE dir isn't for Standby/shutdown then... that leaves me almost back to square 1, now i just need to find out what it is exactly in the DLLCACHE dir and why the size difference... i have no more ideas now, so i hope someone else finds out, as it would be nice to know if anythings going to go wrong when i delete them
I'll let u know if all goes well when they are deleted, but it wont be for a while as i dont want ANY lockups on the AMD (and i know how stuburn XP can be)... i spose i could delete em on this PC but its only 8mb, well at least if it locks then i know not to try it on the other 1!
Regards
