Network Neighborhood - PC's cant see it.

Our WAN has several LAN's with BDC on them.
Mainly running win 95, and so are using the workgroup option in network properties to group related PCs together.

on a random interval of 1-4 weeks one of the workgroups gets lost. Some NT servers can see 1 member of this workgroup, other NT Servers see none.

There are no reported name conflicts or IP address conflicts.
Is emptying the WINS Databases a go idea?
as the WINS is replicated do I need to empty all other Server databases?
Am I barking up the wrong tree?
I'm bald, but I still have a hairline fracture !!

Can you still ping the computers or look for them using the "find computer" command ?
You should also check the browserfunction.

    Well my Northern friend,
We have a similar setup to what you described and a similar problem. My boss tells me that the reason is: when DHCP (I assume you're using DHCP) assigns new IPs, the WINS servers don't always get updated immediately and NETbios names appear 'lost'. Unless using a recommended utility,
I would personally not muck about with the WINS databases unless you're some sort of £300 per hour guru. For us the problem seems to sort itself given time. The worst bit is having to tolerate the endless phone calls from users wingeing.
