NT4-Exchange Server-Workstation
Using nt4, Outlook 2000-Exchange Server for workstation, i can edit the registry to save the logon domain and username, but always need to enter a password. Microsoft suggests choosing "nt password authentication" under the properties of the Microsoft Exchange Server, this does not work.

You are not logging into the domain of the machine and are logging in locally it sounds like. That will be the only way of fixing it. The hack they told you just remembers the username and domain......i do exactly what you are all the time and it works for me. However if i log in locally to the machine it prompts. hope this helps..
