How can I tell if my BIOS supports the 'reserving' of IRQ's?

If I discover that my BIOS does support this feature I'll then need to know how to use it!

Installation of a network card bumped my sound card off IRQ 5 and onto 3 - so now the modem and sound card are screwed up.

I'm trying to find any way to get the network card to IRQ 10, the sound card to IRQ 5 and the modem back to IRQ 3...

    Anyone?

    Thanks - Reverend Nice

To reserve an IRQ you simply go into the bios.
Use your right cursor to move to the Advanced screen.
Then move down to Resource configuration. When you enter this it should list all of the IRQ's on your sys.
Simply highlight IRQ 5, hit the enter key and select reserve.
    F10 saves changes and exits.
(I am assuming this is a dell machine, if not then it should be pretty similar)

If you do not have a resource configuration option then you more than likely cannot reserve your IRQ's here.

Before you reserve your IRQ you should remove the sound card and the network card from add/remove and device manager so they can redetect properly.

    Best of luck.
