I recently encounter this popup message whenever I try to run programs that are previously working on my NT workstation SP3:

Hidden Console of WOW VDM
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction

I have tried to copy a fresh NTVDM.EXE into my NT dir but it still does not work. Any ideas? I prefer not to re-install NT if possible.
